Komptech Hydraulic Trommel

Komptech’s Nemus 2700 or the “NEw MUStang” brings back the company’s hydraulic trommel screen line for customers who prefer hydraulic motors over electric motors powered by a generator. Major benefits of the Nemus, notes Komptech, include: Higher throughput with better material flow through the drum, new hopper design with steeper side walls for less bridging, updated hopper drive for better performance and lower conveyor wear, fine collection discharge belt that can be mounted on either side and eliminates spillage that results from a two part discharge system, ability to use drums from the competitors’ machine, longer fines and overs conveyors for higher piles and a one-piece brush for complete cleaning of the drum. Hydraulic motors are less expensive than electric motors, however operating costs are higher due to fuel consumption. The company explains that the focus in development of its Cribus series trommels with electric motors was on operating costs, whereas with the Nemus it was on purchase costs. www.komptechusa.com

Bandit’s Land Clearing Power

Bandit Industries has enhanced its line of track carriers, starting with the all-new Model 3750 designed to operate with extremely low ground pressure. It can be equipped with a mulching forestry mower head or a hydrostatic stump grinding head. The Model 3750 combines the smaller size and lighter weight of the Model 3500 with the larger cab and forestry mower head of the Model 4000, and it rides on a CAT(r) 315 undercarriage with 31-inch-wide pads (providing a ground pressure of just 3.9 PSI). The high-powered forestry mower is also suited for general purpose land clearing due to the wide tracks and lower weight. www.banditchippers.com
